The thought of buying a house had been in the back of our minds for years. Without thinking this could actually be a reality, we never took the time to do the research or prepar... The thought of buying a house had been in the back of our minds for years. Without thinking this could actually be a reality, we never took the time to do the research or prepare ourselves for what to expect during the process. Once we found out that we could actually have our own home and stop throwing money away on renting, we hopped to it! I, the overly excited wife, went with the first realtor that we came across. Our experience wasn't terrible, she was a very nice person, but it wasn't long before house hunting felt like a chore. It seemed like we were doing all the leg work and most of the houses we were interested in were already under contract. We began to wonder if it was worth it. ...then my husband, the "logic hound," found Doug online. I was out of town when they decided to meet in person and when I came home I was filled in on the details about how "Doug was the guy for us!" A couple day later the three of us met and suddenly house hunting became what we thought it should be - it quickly turned from a stressful chore into endless exciting possibilities!! After a long search, our daughter turned us onto DOUG as she had him for a home she purchased a few years earlier. DOUG found us a home that was a perfect fit in Spring Hill at a fair price that wasn’t even listed yet on the MLS. Today, DOUG helped us sell that home as a move out of state prompted the sale. We wanted to originally list during the holiday season, however, being a slow market time DOUG suggested that we wait until after the holidays to keep the listing fresh. DOUG did suggest that we place a Coming Soon sign in the yard Incase there were any interested parties. Then BANG! A couple saw the Coming Soon sign and inquired about the house. The next day the couple came through the home and made an offer! The offer was accepted and the rest is history. There were a few small bumps along the way on the buyers side but DOUG stayed on top of the situations and kept us advised. By doing that, we were very assured that the sale would be made and his communications kept us calm and collected. Would we use DOUG again? YES!!! Trying to sell our home in Spring Hill, FL while attempting to find a home in the Spring Hill, TN area was a challenge. Just when we thought we had secured a home...new build... it fell through for several reasons outside of our control due to the builder. Our Florida home sold within 9 days,,, we had to find a rental that would accept 4 small dogs while trying to find a home in TN. As a first time home buyer, Doug went above and beyond my expectations of a realtor! He guided us through every step in the process and answered all of our many questions. He is honest and upfront and I feel always had our best interest in mind. He was always available either via phone, text or email. He is well connected in the community and had recommendations for inspectors, mortgage brokers, home insurance companies, etc. And when I called those companies to request their services, they had nothing but good things to say about Doug when I mentioned he recommended them to me. Moving from out of state, we relied on his knowledge of the different Nashville neighborhoods to pare down where we wanted to look. We walked through at least a dozen homes and during that time, I appreciated that he wasn't on his phone, checking his email, taking multiple calls from the office or other clients - I felt like his priority was helping me find the perfect home.
