Grace Janho believes that it takes more than an address and a roof over your head to call a place “home.” Truly feeling at home is all about achieving a level of comfort where you can enjoy your surroundings and feel like you belong. It’s about a longing for a piece of earth to call your own.
As an immigrant, Grace understands that longing more than most. She was born and raised in Jerusalem and is fluent in both Arabic and English. She moved to the United States in 1978 and had since moved many times to different parts of the country, and with each move came the need to adapt to her new surroundings, learn the local culture, immerse herself in the community and make new friends. She learned to be resourceful and re-created herself along the way.
Grace attended the College of Charleston for her Bachelor's degree and received a Master's in Elementary Education from the State University of New York. Furthermore, she continued her educational training and certification in the Montessori education philosophy and founded and operated a Montessori School in Cumming, GA that she later sold and is thriving till today. Grace then went on to study many alternative healing modalities with a focus on Chinese medicine and diagnosis using the 5- Element Theory, herbal medicine and formulated her own herbal remedies. She opened a holistic center in CA and worked closely with medical doctors and health practitioners.
Additionally, Grace received her real estate license in CA in 2014 where she was a realtor at Golden Gate Sotheby’s until she sold her holistic center and moved to Nashville in 2018 at the urging of her oldest daughter, Hannah, a graduate of Belmont University. Grace never regretted her decision. "It's good to be home." Says Grace. "I've been uprooted all my life and it's such a great feeling to be home in Nashville and to be welcomed by my lovely community."
Grace's love and passion for baking led her to create her new venture in 2022 with her youngest daughter, Natalie, who also moved to Nashville...Say Grace for Cookies, an online cookie store that sells and ships a variety of international cookies across the country. Among her local customers; Title & Escrow companies, lenders and real estate agents, and it brings Grace great joy to bake and gift cookies to her clients.
