1- My background
I attended Watkins College of Art for architectural drawing and Volunteer State Community College for real estate. This training helps me specialize in adding a unique perspective for space planning and interior design for prospective home buyers & sellers.
I have over 20 years of previous experience in retail merchandise presentation and departmental space planning for companies like Neiman-Marcus, JCPenney, and Castner-Knotts. It was my honor to be a co-founder of the Direct Support Professionals Association of Tennessee (DSPAT), which is one of the first statewide organizations in the U.S. created to give voice to, advance the careers of, and advocate on behalf of a large workforce of DSPs who provide effective, compassionate supports to people with disabilities. This diverse experience has prepared me for a career in real estate by giving me a great vision for home staging and how to make things look good, as well as teaching me to stay sensitive to supporting others.
Parks Realty was an easy choice for me as my first home purchase was with a Parks agent. The trust with that agent was such a positive experience that it led me to think of working with Parks. The support and training here are exactly what I was promised. As I am getting my feet wet, I surely have seen why the Parks system works for agents and clients alike.
Becoming a real estate agent was a late-in-life vision just as was my first home in East Nashville. Then, I wondered why it took me so long. I also bought an investment rental property and I would like to give that feeling of ownership and pride that I have for my property to other prospective home buyers.
After living in Middle Tennessee for most of my life, I have been able to stay well-grounded and I have a deep love for the south. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing in quiet spaces like my houseboat on the Cumberland River, reading books, and binge-watching Netflix. My longtime favorite passion is driving my Miata sports car on less-traveled winding roads with the sunshine on my face. Life is good !
As Nashville and Tennessee have recently become the "it" city and state I have a respect and memory of the "old and the new". I love stories of our regional history. So if you need advice on any local subjects, I am your guy and would be delighted to help you go shopping for your next home.
2- Why choose me
I am a native Tennessean. While I was not “born on a mountain top in Tennessee” as the famous song sings ….. I was born in a small town east of Nashville called Old Hickory Village. My roots there with the history of the DuPont Company has given me such a passion for the beauty and lifestyle of Tennessee. My family of six siblings survived and thrived while my dad was employed with DuPont for 37 years. I was taught loyalty and respect and to always ‘do the right thing’. That is my pledge to you.
