Autumn has returned to Tennessee, and with it, a cape of riotous crimson and gold hues is rippling down the Great Smokies to the valley floors. Despite the hurdles the pandemic continues to raise, we’re proud to say that our local farmers have nevertheless been hard at work preparing beautiful corn mazes for children and adults alike to conquer.

Today, we’re sharing our picks for the Best Corn Mazes in Tennessee, from petite to mega-massive! If a homegrown challenge is just your speed, then don your pumpkin-patch boots, grab a sweater, and high-tail it over to a maze in your neck of the woods.

Gentry Farm

Nestled between the undulating hills in Franklin, Gentry Farm carries on its long history as a working cattle ranch. Founded nearly 170 years ago, this family-owned farm has been run by Gentrys for seven generations. Now, the family welcomes visitors to explore the wonder of their corn maze, as well as pick pumpkins, visit the farm’s petting zoo, and learn about the wildlife conservation efforts to which our farmers remain dedicated.

When fall brings clear weather, head out to Lucky Ladd Farms! Their famous farm has been recognized as creating “Tennessee’s #1 Corn Maze” four years in a row, so expect miles of twists and turns should you step up to this challenge. We hear this year’s maze will remind us of the bright moments of humor our country has shared throughout this strange and sad year.

Once you’re through the maze, be sure to take a moment to stop by the bakery for a fresh treat or prepared meal, visit the petting zoo, and get a head start on your holiday shopping at the farm’s boutique. Tickets are limited this year in order to facilitate full social distancing, so please purchase yours with plenty of time to spare ahead of your visit.

Morrison Acres is one of Tennessee’s newest family farms, but their pumpkin patch and corn maze were actually how they got their start! Now, their mega-sized maze sprawls over seven acres, while their Kid Maze is fun-sized—perfect for younger children. Morrison Acres also boasts two-story culvert slides, a tire tower, zipline, a miniature golf course, a 70-foot bounce pillow, and much more!


River Maze

Birchland Ocoee Farms, owned by the Fetzer family since 1904, invites you to visit their giant corn maze! The famous River Maze, named for its stunning location right alongside the Ocoee River, celebrates America the Beautiful this year with a Liberty Bell and historic American icons adorning a map of our country’s ten major rivers.  Additionally, this year’s maze includes a mysterious scavenger hunt, playable either on your smartphone or on a pre-printed card. Still looking for more to do? Carry the landmark passport with you as you explore and locate the ten numbered spots tucked away throughout the maze.


Maple Lane Maze

Maple Lane Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is pulling out all the stops with a ten-acre maze sure to leave you feeling lost. Open when weather permits (days with no rain in the forecast), this mega-sized corn maze is the oldest in the Southeast and the first of its scale in Tennessee. This year, the design is sponsored by Denso, and celebrates the company’s 30th year. Please be aware that this maze may be slightly too scary for small children. Guests are asked not to wear costumes and are reminded that those in costume will not be given entry.


Shuckle's Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Guthrie’s Corn Maze celebrates harvest traditions this year, and the petting zoo, hayride, duck races, super slide, tractor dig, and tricycles—yes, for adults, too—are back!
