July is here! Let the month of Independence Day and the first full month of summer begin! The Music City July 4th Celebration is back, as are other local favorites such as Uncle Dave Macon Days and the Music City Hot Chicken Festival. New events are also popping up so make sure to mark your calendars and prepare yourself for a whole lot of fun!


July 4th: Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration
Downtown Nashville | Nashville

Known as one of the best free 4th of July firework shows in the country, Nashville is back again in celebrating Independence Day! There will be stages with live music, food trucks, and other vendors throughout Downtown Nashville for the entire day leading up to the firework show at night. This is a perfect way to spend the entire day with friends and family! Join us in celebrating!


July 4th: Music City Hot Chicken Festival
East Park | Nashville

Every year on the 4th of July, hot chicken lovers gather at East Park for the Music City Hot Chicken Festival! Some of Nashville’s best hot chicken creators offer up tastes of their fiery dishes to the public. This event is free and the perfect opportunity to try our city’s staple food! Prepare for the heat!


July 6th: Nashville Soul Music Festival 2019
Fairgrounds Speedway | Nashville

The Soul Music Festival returns featuring Atlantic Starr, Regina Belle, H-Town, Pokey Bear, J.J. Fad, Dem Franchize Boyz, and DJ Unk! The fairgrounds will be rockin’ with some great soul music & food at this year’s event. Bring family and friends for a day of good music and food. Can you think of a better combo?


July 12th: The Clean Comedy Challenge
Generations Church | Franklin

Don’t miss this night of good clean fun in Franklin! Fifteen contestants from Nashville’s 2019 Clean Comedy Challenge, plus four nationally touring headliners will be performing. This event is 100% family friendly and fun for all age ranges, so wrangle the family together and go have a laugh or two!


July 12th: 16th Annual Maury County Sheriffs Rodeo
Maury County Park | Columbia

The Maury County Sheriff’s Rodeo is coming back for its 16th year! It has some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in the southeast competing in 8 different events, with $8000 dollars in winnings. All proceeds will go to community outreach programs, such as Shop with a Cop, Thanksgiving baskets, Coats for Kids, and Cowboy Up!


July 12-13th: Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival
Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village | Murfreesboro

It’s time for old-time music and dance to take center stage yet again! Competitions will be held throughout the day in clogging, buck dancing, banjo, and bluegrass bands. There will also be a variety of food and craft vendors available!


July 20th: Kids Fishing Derby
Lock 4 Park | Gallatin

Let the little ones experience the joys of fishing at the 30th Annual Kids Fishing Derby! There will be food trucks, live entertainment, prizes, and meet & greets with the Grand Ole Opry’s new emerging talent. This event is free for kids ages 5-16, so grab the little ones and enjoy a fun summer day!


July 22-26th: Cirque du Science Camp
Community Center | Mt. Juliet

Step right up to Cirque Du Science, where the Science Guys reveal the secrets of the greatest show on earth! They will explore many feats of the circus, explain the science behind it, and help each kid perform these feats on their own. Activities will include juggling, plate spinning, balancing, and discovering that magic is just science without an explanation!


July 26th: Red, White, & Zoo
Nashville Zoo | Nashville

Visit the zoo for their fifth annual wine tasting event! Wander the zoo trails while enjoying unlimited samples of wine and a curated selection of craft beers. A number of exhibits will be open until sundown with keepers available to answer questions! There will also be live music, animal encounters, and food available for purchase through local vendors. This event is an adults-only evening fundraiser, guests under age 21 are not permitted.


July 27th: Music City Brewer’s Festival
Music City Walk of Fame Park | Nashville

The 18th Annual Music City Brewer’s Fest is one of the biggest and best beer festivals in the country! Guests will have an opportunity to sample some of the most respected brews from over 40 local, regional, national, and imported breweries. This year’s fest is set to be another sell-out year with over 5,000 people in attendance, so buy your tickets quick!
