August is here! Let the month of National Watermelon Day, National Smile Week and the dog days of summer begin! The Wilson County Fair is back, as are other local favorites such as Live On The Green and the Williamson County Fair. New events are also popping up so make sure to mark your calendars and prepare yourself for a whole lot of fun!


August 2-4th: Boro Balloon Fest
The Grove at Williamson Place | Murfreesboro

Take part in the first-ever Boro Balloon Fest! They will be hosting several hot air balloons for adventure flights, tethered rides, and balloon glows for three days. In addition, activities will also include food trucks, live music, craft vendors, hayrides, a slime creation station, and a hot air balloon photo booth. This picturesque festival has fun and adventure for all ages, so bring the whole family out!


August 2-10th: Williamson County Fair
Williamson County AgExpo Park | Franklin

Join in on the celebration of 15 years of the Williamson County Fair! This event is fun for the whole family and offers more than 25 educational exhibits and attractions. These attractions include the popular Children’s Barnyard, Little 1’s Farming, and the 4-H & Youth Village, plus several thrilling rides on the midway!


August 3rd: Bikes and Beers Nashville
Yazoo Brewing Co. | Nashville

What’s better than a celebration of cycling and craft beer? Bikes and Beers features a 15 and 30-mile ride which will be leaving from Yazoo Brewing Co. and traveling around the gorgeous city of Nashville. Both rides will have rest stops with refreshments! Rides will end back at Yazoo where there will be free gifts to riders, live music all day, food trucks, games, and photo booths!


August 9th: Find Your Fit Nashville
Fontanel | Whites Creek

Find Your Fit Nashville will be benefiting St. Jude Children’s Hospital! This is a one-of-a-kind fitness event that includes all kinds of movement activities, including but not limited to a 5k, yoga, MoveFit, and many more. There will also be fitness and health sponsors, along with free giveaways, raffles, and other festivities. Come out for a night of movement to support kids who unfortunately don’t have the luxury of getting their movement in with us!


August 9-10th: Tomato Art Fest
Historic Five Points | Nashville

This free, costume-encouraged event provides a wildly entertaining, fun-filled day for all types and all ages! The Tomato Art Fest has steadily drawn larger crowds with each passing year and brought in an estimated 60,000 people last year who came to celebrate this beloved fruit/vegetable and enjoy the day’s festivities. Guests will find an array of wacky & hilarious contests, floats, and costumes. True to their name, there will be over 300 tomato-inspired art pieces showcased throughout the weekend!


August 10th: Sumner Fest
Sanders Ferry Park & Boat Ramp | Hendersonville

Sumner Fest is Sumner County’s premier hot air balloon festival! Nestled on the shoreline of Old Hickory Lake, this is the best backdrop for a celebration filled with food, fun, and non-stop entertainment. Hot air balloons will color the sky and provide incredible aerial views that will leave you in awe. There will also be tethered hot air balloon rides, live music, a kids zone, and dozens of vendors. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to watch the hot air balloons take off and enjoy their beautiful glow!


Multiple Dates in August: Live On The Green
Public Square Park | Nashville

Moving into its 11th season, everyone’s favorite free concert series is back! What originally started off as a small neighborhood event is now a musical staple in Nashville. This event brings in thousands of fans and benefits the local downtown economy greatly during the season. Check out the lineup and plan which dates you’re going to make it out to!


August 16-24th: Wilson County Fair
Wilson County Expo Center | Lebanon

Featuring one of America’s premier traveling carnival midways, the Wilson County Fair is nine days of family fun and entertainment! This is a local favorite and includes so much to see, most people don’t get to see it all in one visit. Guests will have access to thrilling rides, food, concerts, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, pageants, livestock shows, Fiddlers Grove Historic Village, and more! There will also be numerous art exhibits, farm and exotic animal exhibits, and various shows. This is one you don’t want to miss!


August 24-25th: Deep Tropics Music, Art, & Style Festival
Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park | Nashville

Join in on this charity event benefitting Greenways for Nashville! The event will include forward-thinking artists, musicians, muralists, and tastemakers from all over the world while highlighting the best looks, sounds, and locations Nashville has to offer. Deep Tropics is a multi-genre, multi-venue, island-themed celebration that aims to reconnect Nashville through music, art, and style!


August 27th: Maury County Fair & Expo
Maury County Park | Columbia

Spend a day having some good quality family fun! The Maury County Fair is back to promote agriculture awareness and education through the community. This traditional fair event will have plenty of things to do for all ages, tons of food, games, and rides to keep you entertained all day. Don’t miss out on the classic tractor pull and demolition derby!
