With the summer heat in full swing, it’s the perfect time to head out to spend a sultry evening at a local brewery. To help you choose from the many beloved spots throughout the region, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best breweries in Middle Tennessee! Whether you’re looking for a pale ale or the tastiest cider in town, we’ve got the taproom destinations you don’t want to miss this season.

Diskin Cider

1235 Martin St | Nashville | Wedgewood-Houston
Best Bet: Six One Five

Diskin Cider burst onto the Nashville brewery scene in 2018. Offering a range of crisp, lightly sweet, mostly dry ciders along with a chef-curated seasonal menu, they quickly earned rave reviews.

The Cidery’s cocktail and beer selections here are outstanding on their own, but for those who have had enough of beer—or never enjoyed it to begin with—Diskin’s eponymous ciders are a welcome change of pace.

There’s a consistently large crowd at Diskin, and it’s not just the delicious brews that entice folks to linger. The sprawling, warehouse-style layout encourages socializing. Out on the patio, patrons can lounge in hammocks, enjoy lively music, or grab grub from one of the food trucks that often stop by.

Gluten-free ciders and dining options are available. Families are welcome. Additionally, leashed dogs are permitted on the patio.

Tasting Room Hours:
Thursday: 4 – 10pm
Friday: 4pm – 12am
Saturday: 12pm – 12am
Sunday: 12 – 7pm

Mayday Brewery

521 Old Salem Rd | Murfreesboro
Best Bet: Boro’ Blonde

Mayday Brewery is a funky, art-studded departure from the concrete and chrome aesthetic so common in Tennessee. Follow the colorful, lighted arrows guiding you to the taproom, and prepare to indulge in brews as exciting as the décor.

The Mayday tour is $6. Ozzie, the owner, will amuse as well as educate, and you’ll have the opportunity to taste each beer along the way. Upon the tour’s conclusion, you’ll choose a pint to fill your souvenir glass, and refills are free upon request.

Citrus and spice combine in unexpected and playful ways in Mayday’s famous sours, so consider the four-sample pour if you’d like to experience a range of their offerings without hopping on a tour.

Stop by for a brewery tour, live entertainment, trivia nights, community events (yoga and beer on Saturdays, anyone?), rotating food truck partnerships, or spend an afternoon just hanging out! There always seems to be something fun happening at Mayday Brewery.

Mayday Brewery welcomes families and leashed dogs.

Jackalope Brewing Company

701 8th Ave & 429B Houston St | Nashville
Best Bet: The Bearwalker

Jackalope Brewing Company is almost as beloved for their tour as they are for their brews. A mere ten dollars snags you a generous pour of four craft beers, tales of the history of the brews themselves, and a quick overview of the techniques used in brewing their craft beers.

Consider stopping by either one of the Jackalope Brewing Company locations – it’s a fantastic way to spend the afternoon or evening. Board games are available to all, and the Zollikoffee coffee shop is located right inside.

Jackalope welcomes families and leashed dogs.

Tennessee Brew Works

809 Ewing Ave | Nashville | Pie Town

Best Bet: Southern Wit

Like many of the best-loved breweries in the area, Tennessee Brew Works serves up delicious, well-priced beer in a modern, industrial-style taproom. What sets TBW apart from the crowd, however, is their outstanding menu that’s well worth a visit all on its own.

Don’t miss standouts including the hot chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, artisanal appetizers, and flavor-packed vegetarian options.  Naturally, the beers are excellent as well; TBW’s light and fruity brews will please even those who usually don’t love beer, while their rich and complex ale, porter, and IPA will thrill the confirmed beer-lover looking to experience innovative takes on the classics.

In an effort to help protect the wildlands they love, Tennessee Brew Works created State Park Blond in partnership with Tennessee State Parks. When you order State Park Blonde, a portion of all sales will benefit continued conservation efforts.

Tours of the brewery are $10. You’ll learn about the history of the brewery, including a breakdown of their unique filtration system. Sample beers along the way, then choose your favorite fresh craft beer to fill your souvenir pint glass.

Live entertainment rotates on the hour at Tennessee Brew Works. Families and leashed dogs are welcome.

Mantra Artisan Ales

216 Noah Dr #140 | Franklin
Best Bet: The Saffron IPA

Mantra Artisan Ales may just be the perfect brewery for the samplers out there—you know who you are! Over eighteen unusual and intriguing stouts, sours, and IPAs beckon the adventurous with flavor combinations like saffron, chocolate and peanut butter, and chai spice.

Tours of the brewery are $10. Available on Saturdays at 3, 4, and 5 pm, the tour concludes with your choice of brew to fill your souvenir pint glass.

Families and leashed dogs are all welcome at Mantra.

Mill Creek Taproom at 12 South

2905 12th Ave S, Nashville | 2008 B Johnson Industrial Blvd, Nolensville
Best Bet: Lil Darlin

Known for their charming slogan “Less Fuss. More Beer,” outstanding brews, and having the best burgers in Nashville, Mill Creek Taproom at 12 South has something for everyone.

We wouldn’t discourage you from stopping by just for a drink, but with menu offerings like Cajun fried pig ears and chicharrones, salty street style popcorn, or the skillet brownie finished with a healthy drizzle of beer honey, we do think you’ll be happy if you arrive hungry!

Mill Creek Taproom welcomes families. Leashed dogs are permitted on the patio.

Southern Grist Brewing Company

1201 Porter Rd, East Nashville | 5012 Centennial Blvd, West Nashville
Best Bet: Strawberry Upside-Down Cake IPA

The East Nashville Southern Grist Brewing Company shop is the original location, and since the brewery built its reputation on its catalog of delicious fruity and pastry-themed sours and stouts, you’ll want to take your time over a few free samples before you commit to your brew.

Southern Grist doesn’t offer a full menu, but with small plates like beer cheese and warm pretzels on offer, you’ll enjoy snacking as you sip and sample!

Families welcome. Leashed dogs are permitted on the patio.

Half Batch Brewing

393 E Main St | Hendersonville
Best Bet: Two Foot Cream Ale

Hendersonville’s first brewery didn’t open until 2018, but Half Batch Brewing company was well worth the wait. Less than a year after opening, Half Batch was attracting visitors from out of town; with competitive prices, delicious beers, and spacious free parking, it’s easy to see the appeal.

Half Batch Brewing hosts fun community events like quiz nights, themed events, and family-friendly live entertainment.

Asgard Brewing Company

104 E 5th St | Columbia
Best Bet: Voyager

If you’re craving an escape from the mundane, Asgard Brewing Company has you covered. Their colorful and intricate old-Norse themed décor supports the enticing brew offerings (cider, craft beer, ale, and mead) beautifully; while rotating food truck offerings make up for the lack of in-house eats.

Stop by for live music, arcade, and board games, but stay for the good company. This lively brewery is family-friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome.
