Food truck cuisine is hotter than ever, and Nashville has dozens to choose from. We’ve narrowed down our list of favorites to a few that you really shouldn’t miss this spring and summer season. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic grilled sandwich or a smoky rack of ribs, we’ve got the food truck recommendations you can trust.

Be sure to read on for our events roundup. We’ll share the music festivals and food truck roundups we can’t help visiting more than once each season; we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

The Grilled Cheeserie Gourmet Grilled Cheese Truck

$11 – $30

Find their classic black-and-white striped truck by visiting their website. The schedule changes weekly.

The Grilled Cheeserie is famous for its elevated grilled sandwiches and build-your-own melts. They use local ingredients in their nostalgic recipes, which include specialties like the delicious B&B of Tennessee (buttermilk cheddar, heritage bacon, and seasonal caramelized apple and shallot jam on multigrain bread).

Fans love their comforting creamy tomato soup paired with any grilled sandwich, their house garlic dill pickles (complimentary with your order), smoked jalapeño relish, and their creamy pimento mac and cheese.

Don’t be put off by long lines; this popular truck keeps the line moving quickly!

Funk Seol Brother

Funk Seol Brother, formally Riff’s Fine Street Foods, was named Nashville Scene’s 2016 Writer’s Choice for Best Food Truck! They also have a physical storefront in The Factory in Franklin. They serve up Poke (a fish salad), ramen noodles, and all sorts of other Korean and Japenese inspired dishes!

Their Instagram shows off all the amazing dishes they serve so definitely take a look! They update their twitter with the truck’s location often so make sure to follow along to catch the truck out and about!

Hoss’ Loaded Burgers

$7 – $12

TEXT ‘BURGER’ TO 88-000 FOR daily locations

Hoss’ Loaded Burgers can also be followed on Twitter for current locations @hossburgers (or facebook.com/hossburgers). Visit their website at hossburgers.com to view their menu and order ahead online.

Based on the famous “Juicy Lucy,” this truck’s burgers come stuffed with cheese and smothered in unique toppings you can’t find anywhere else. The owner, Dallas Shaw, partners with Porter Road Butcher to bring Nashville a custom-blended, locally-sourced, 100% grass-fed beef burger blended with a touch of fat to create the perfect juicy burger.

Dallas makes his sauces from scratch, but he relies on Nashville’s Charpier’s bakery for the buns he uses. He needed the bun to be sturdy enough to stand up to his mighty patties, yet delicate enough to keep the focus on the beef. Fans of the food truck say Charpier’s got the balance just right.

Customers love the Old Timer burger (classic burger stuffed with cheddar, topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, ketchup, and mustard), parmesan fries, multiple bacon varieties, option to add a fried egg, extra cheese, or avocado, generous portions, and affordable prices. They warn that these burgers are anything but light; be prepared to be full for the rest of the day, and consider sharing if you’re a light eater. Hoss’ Loaded Burgers are cooked medium rare, so be sure to specify if you’d like it cooked a little longer.

Thrillist rated Hoss’ Loaded Burger as the #1 ‘Thing to Eat in Nashville Before You Die,” and they’ve been featured on many other “top food truck lists,” including Local Eats, The Guardian, and Eater Nashville.

We featured Hoss’ Burgers in our vlog this month. You can watch that here!

Smoke Et Al

$6 – $30

Visit smokeetal.com for daily locations and a full menu.

At Smoke Et Al, even the vegetable sides are deliciously smoked, but the real stars are the meats. Choose from chicken, brisket, BBQ pork shoulder, or a rack of baby back ribs. Don’t let this truck’s humble exterior fool you; their dishes pack the full punch you’d expect from long, complex smoking. Whether you’re in the mood for tacos or a full plate of BBQ deliciousness, Smoke Et Al is sure to please.

Fans love their fried pickled okra (no slime here!), hot ribs, and Yazoo mac ‘n cheese (made with Yazoo brewery’s Gerst amber ale, a special three-cheese blend, smoked Cheetos, and scallions), smoked beans, and tender potato salad.

Yayo’s OMG
$6 – $12

Visit their website to see the truck’s rotating schedule and full menu.

Yayo’s brings Mexican and Southern Californian gourmet taco cuisine to Nashville! Their delicious, classic tacos have already earned this truck Food Network coverage.

Fans love their skirt steak tacos, mahi mahi tacos, and chorizo Mexican melts. Don’t forget to pick up one of their authentic Mexican cokes!

EAT THE STREET

Eat the Street, Franklin’s food truck-themed fundraiser, returns for its fifth run this May! The annual event benefits the 21st Drug Court and attracted an estimated 10,000 attendees in 2015.
