May is here! As the weather gets warmer, more and more events are popping up all over Middle Tennessee! From charities to food to music, we are filling up our weekends with these amazing events and we hope you’ll join us! As always, we are looking forward to eating lots of great food, listening to music, and enjoying the strong community that you feel all over Middle Tennessee.


May 2: The Big Payback

Ok, so we’ve talked about The Big Payback a lot but we just can’t help it! We’re so excited that it’s finally time! Head over to their website on the 2nd to support your favorite Middle Tennessee non-profit in all that they do!


May 4-5: Sevier Park Fest

Sevier Park | Nashville

Kick off May with this great free festival! Enjoy local food truck, musicians, and vendors all while supporting a local nonprofit, The Friends of Sevier Park. On Friday night, you can purchase tickets to see J Roddy Walston, Amanda Shires, and SUSTO as well!


May 4-5: Eat the Street

Bicentennial Park | Franklin

Head over to Franklin to fill your bellies with some of the best food imaginable! More than 30 food trucks will be at this 7th annual event which raises money for Recovery Court, a non-profit that supports alternative sentencing for nonviolent offenders with addiction issues.


May 4-5: Main Street Jazz Fest

Downtown Murfreesboro | Murfreesboro

This signature event has been a town favorite in Murfreesboro for the last 22 years! Enjoy amazing jazz music from local high schools, jazz bands, and traveling musicians! Enjoy amazing food while listening to some of the best music around!


May 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, 28: Tennessee Renaissance Festival

2124 New Castle Road | Arrington

For a unique day of fun, the Rennaissance Festival is a great bet! All of the vendors and decor will make you believe you truly are in 16th Century England! Wander around the castle and enjoy products from over 60 artisans! There are even challenges, games, and performances! You can order your tickets online in advance too!


May 12th: 77th Annual Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival

Downtown Portland | Portland, TN

Head over to Portland this month to enjoy a historic festival! Strawberries have long been important to this city. In 1941, when the festival was first created, residents shipped out 30 railroad cars of berries per day! Though things have changed, many local farmers still call Portland their home! At the festival, you can buy berries, pick your own, and enjoy general festivities all day!


May 12th: Iroquois Steeplechase

Percy Warner Park | Nashville

Come join the finest folks of Nashville at the Iroquois Steeplechase! Make sure to throw on your biggest hat and Sunday best for this refined occasion! The Steeplechase first came about in 1941 and has been important to the Nashville community ever since. Enjoy furnished tents, organized tailgating, and all sorts of treats! Make sure to buy tickets in advance!


Various Dates Throughout May: Musicians Corner

Centennial Park | Nashville

Modeled after the historic London’s Speakers’ Corner, Musicians Corner is a local favorite for its amazing free music options! Lightning 100 sponsors an acoustic stage and all sorts of amazing food trucks come out to support the events. Amazing artists such as Nikki Lane, Andrew Combs, Forlorn Strangers, and many more are playing throughout the month!
