A new survey by the National Association of Realtors suggests that for a majority of
renters, homeownership is one of their highest priorities. Indeed, in many parts of Middle
Tennessee it’s less expensive to own than to rent, and home ownership is a great way to
begin to build financial independence.
Although interest rates have moved up more than a full percentage point from their
lowest levels about six months ago, they are still at historically low levels.
Is it a good time to buy or sell? In any market climate it’s the top question I get asked.
I usually say, “Yes, but it depends.” I consider the current conditions and offer my best
advice, because every situation is unique. But the more important question is, “Is the
time right for you?” Not everyone has the luxury of time. Jobs change, children grow
up, you grow out of your current home, and children move back in – sometimes it’s more
a matter of space or location needs. We can help you work with that. It is important to
us that we meet you where you are and determine the best financing options and loan
terms that we can. We have all the great programs you would expect as well as some
incredible in-house products like construction, home equity and common sense portfolio
loans only available through a small local bank.
If you are currently renting and would like to take the first steps toward home
ownership, give our team of experts at Legacy Lending Group a call. We specialize in
first time homebuyers and would be happy to walk you through the various steps and
options currently available to you.
