ABOUT 12 SOUTH, BELMONT, AND EDGEHILL

Nashville is a network of unique neighborhoods, with some spread to the edges of the county and some nearly overlapping. One of the most popular areas of town includes three such communities – 12 South, Belmont, and Edgehill.

12 South is a bustling community known for its walkability. Murals dress up the walls of local businesses like Draper James. Some of the restaurants that helped set the Nashville foodie scene on the map started here, including the original Edley’s Barbecue and Five Daughters Bakery, the home of the 100 layer doughnut. The neighborhood is also home to Sevier Park which hosts a weekly farmers market, music festivals, and other family-friendly events each year.

Belmont is most well known for Belmont University, a beautiful campus that draws students from across the country for their highly touted music industry programs. The area is surrounded with one of a kind shops and restaurants, plus unique houses that were built in the early 1900’s.

The community of Edgehill is centered around Edgehill Village, an eight-building mixed-use space that served as a laundry company in the 1920s. Featuring local favorite restaurants such as Taco Mamacita and Barcelona Wine Bar, unique stores like Warby Parker, and public spaces like Rose Park and Reservoir Park, the small neighborhood is incredibly walkable. They also put on an annual music, food, and art fest called Edgehill Rocks that should not be missed.
