Coming up in May, the PARKS monthly theme will be Food & Restaurant! Below are some featured events in the Nashville area to look forward to with fun for the whole family.

 

Main Street Brew Festival

If you love craft beer, the Main Street Brew Festival is the place for you! On Saturday May 7th from 2-6pm on Main Street in Historic Downtown Franklin will be the beer event of the year with over 30 craft beers from over 35 locations. You will get to sample beer from some of the best breweries, new and established, local and abroad. Enjoy a vast variety of entertainment, food trucks and shopping that all pair well with certain brews. This year, a VIP experience will be offered which will include early entry to tastings, a special beer list exclusive to VIP members, and a VIP lounge at JJ’s Wine Bar. There is also a non-alcoholic option called the Bean Garden where there will be a variety of local coffee that will be brewed fresh! Tickets range from $22-$90 and can be purchased here.

 

TN Craft Fair

For the craft lovers in Middle Tennessee, you should check out the TN Craft Fair May 6-8th in Centennial Park. There will be hundreds of Tennessee craft artists who will be showcasing their handmade treasures for anyone who are searching for that one-of-a-kind piece. You will be able to find something special for everyone whether you’re shopping for a gift, for yourself or for your home. Unique crafts you can find made out of wood, glass, metal, leather or clay. There will be paintings, photography and furniture for sale along with a day filled with surprise.

 

Iroquois Steeplechase

Nashville’s most exclusive sporting event is held the second Saturday of each May. Iroquois Steeplechase has been Nashville’s rite of spring since 1941 attracting more than 25,000 spectators annually to watch the best horses and jockeys in the world race. Held at Percy Warner Park, this year will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Steeplechase. Come see the latest horse race fashion such as the hats. Goodguys Car Show

Returning to Music City for the 11th time, Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is hosting their 3-day automotive festival. In Nissan Stadium on May 13-15, bring your family and friends to see over 2,500 of the finest and oldest hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and classics. There will be a Goodguys AutoCross racing competition, live music entertainment and a free kids zone. New this year, they will be crowning the Goodguys 2016 Tanks Hot Rod of the Year. Tennessee Renaissance Festival

All weekends in May, travel back to the 16th Century and celebrate Tennessee’s Renaissance festival. As a festival-goer, experience the sights, smells and tastes from the time of the Renaissance. Skilled artisans will display their talents by selling handmade jewelry, swords, armory and more. Come hear live music, watch jousting competitions, and comedy shows all set in the appropriate era.
