We are officially one month closer to spring! As things start to warm up, festival season is gearing up in Middle Tennessee! This month has a distinctly Irish focus as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Be sure to check out all the fun outdoor activities, as well as amazing cultural opportunities at our local theaters. And, when you have a free weekend, Cheekwood is open for visitors to come and enjoy the first blooms of spring. 

March 2-11: Pride and Prejudice

Center for the Arts | Murfreesboro

Allow yourself to be taken back in time to the magical world of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. A tale of pride, romance, and the battle of wits, Pride and Prejudice has delighted since it was written. Make sure to support your local artists by treating yourself to this production!


March 10: County Sumner Irish Festival

Bledsoe’s Fort Historical Park | Castalian Springs

Come out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style! Live Irish music, beer on tap, and food trucks will all be present to help you get in the spirit. Be sure to bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the music, food, and drinks on the lawn. The Belmont Trio, Kettle of Fish, Half Batch Brewin, and Delaney’s Street Eats will all be present so you know it’ll be great!

They are also offering tours of Rogan Cottage, an Irish dwelling built in 1800. After you learn all about the historical intrigue of Bledsoe’s Fort Historical Park, enjoy an exhibition of hurling and Gaelic Football put on by the Nashville Gaelic Athletic Club. Be sure to wear your most festive outfit for a chance to win the best costume!


March 17-18: Music City Irish Fest

Riverfront Park | Nashville

Nashville is taking this weekend to celebrate the Irish roots found throughout Nashville. Our sister city of Belfast, Ireland will be cheering on the celebration of music, food, and dance. Bands such as The Willis Clan, Beat Root Revival, and Fiddle Frenzy will delight audiences all weekend long. Plus, the event is entirely free!


March 17: Main Street Brew Fest

Historic Downtown Franklin | Franklin

Head over to Downtown Franklin to enjoy local, national, and international beers! You can also enjoy food trucks and live music whilst sipping on your favorite beverages. There will be more than 35 tasting sites and 70+ craft beers to give you plenty of options. Tickets are on sale now so make sure to get yours quickly!


March 17-April 15: Cheekwood in Bloom

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens | Nashville

As the weather warms up, there is no place to enjoy spring like Cheekwood Estate & Gardens! Snowdrops, crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, magnolias, redbuds, and dogwoods will be starting to bloom and show off their colors. Cheekwood is hosting five weeks of themed Saturdays for your enjoyment. In addition, each Saturday and Sunday they have activities for kids and food trucks and bluegrass music in the Beer Garden! There’s even yoga in the garden on Sundays. Whatever strikes your fancy, you can’t go wrong at Cheekwood in Bloom!


March 28-April 22: Wicked

Tennessee Performing Arts Center | Nashville

Ever wondered what the Land of Oz was like before Dorthory and Toto landed there? Come find out the true story of the Wicked Witch before she was so wicked. The untold story of the Witches of Oz has deleted audiences nationwide and is making it’s Broadway tour stop at the TPAC. Don’t miss your chance to see this spectacular musical!
