September is here! Let the month of Labor Day and the first day of fall begin! The Tennessee State Fair is back, as are other local favorites such as Wine Around the Square and Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival. New events are also popping up so make sure to mark your calendars and prepare yourself for a whole lot of fun!


September 1st: 6th Annual Old School BBQ Fest
Nashville Fairgrounds | Nashville

The Old School BBQ Festival is an inviting event that highlights the aroma of traditional soul food cooking in the air while bringing together families and friends! Guests will enjoy a day of reunion, information and live national award-winning entertainment. The festival also provides complimentary vending space to those who have an interest in providing complimentary service and or information. Don’t miss out!


September 6-8th: Nashville Home Show
Music City Center | Nashville

Visit Nashville’s longest-running home show and Tennessee’s largest home event! This event features over 250 exhibitors with the area’s top services and products. The show offers entertainment for those looking for home improvement needs or those just looking for fun. Guests can also choose to attend an inspirational seminar led by national and local celebrities!


September 6-15th: Tennessee State Fair
Tennessee State Fairgrounds | Nashville

The Tennessee State Fair is an annual event that highlights what makes America and Tennessee great! State fairs are more than just a good time, they are hands-on exhibits of how we live our lives. The fair features arts and crafts, explores agriculture, and allows attendants to have new and exciting experiences. From honoring the state’s best homemade apple pie to the thrilling rides, the Tennessee State Fair has something for everyone to enjoy!


September 7th: Tennessee Honey Festival
Memorial Park | Hendersonville

The Tennessee Honey Festival returns to continue the goal of raising awareness toward the honeybee crisis. Guest activities include a variety of honey vendors, food trucks, live music, interactive children’s activities, educational classes, and exhibits surrounding honey bees. The festival will take place throughout the entire Memorial Park grounds and have free admission for everyone!


September 7th: Cumberland River Compact Dragon Boat Festival
Cumberland River East Bank Landing | Nashville

Going on its 13th year, the Cumberland River Compact Dragon Boat Festival will again host the Dragon Boat races! A series of four-boat heats will race a 200 meter stretch of the Cumberland River to the Grand Champion prize. The races engage Nashville’s most competitive teams to claim the Grand Champion title, all the while fundraising to support keeping the Cumberland River clean and healthy for future generations!


September 7-8th: Middle Tennessee Highland Games & Celtic Festival
Percy Warner Park | Nashville

The Highland Games and Celtic Festival is getting ready for their fifth annual gathering! Activities include Scottish heavy athletic competitions, hurling, rugby games, a kids zone and minor athletics, and three stages of Celtic music and dancing. There will also be a beer tent, food vendors, Celtic product and art vendors, demonstrations, over 40 Scottish clan and organization tents, a Tartan parade, and much more!


September 14th: Harvest Festival & Antique Tractor Show
Rippavilla Plantation | Spring Hill

Rippavilla and SHHS Career Tech Program will be hosting this free event! Guest will have the opportunity to experience living history, live music, tons of food, shopping, and games. Don’t forget to check out the awesome antique tractors!


September 21st: Wine Around the Square
Downtown Square | Murfreesboro

It’s time for the eighth annual Wine Around the Square! The event is a casual, fun, outdoor evening of progressive wine tasting, great local food, and live music. This community-oriented event will benefit the Power of Pink, so go out and support for a great cause!


September 21-22nd: Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival
Harlinsdale Farm | Franklin

Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is a multi-genre music festival featuring some of today’s best local and national touring artists in the beautiful setting of Harlinsdale Farm! The region’s best food and drinks will be available, as well as numerous local artists and artisans. You don’t want to miss out on this amazing festival experience!


September 28th: Southern Smoke BBQ Festival
Circle P General Store | Mt. Juliet

Join the Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club for their third annual Southern Smoke BBQ Festival! Guests will enjoy live music, kids activities, handmade craft and artisan shopping, and barbeque that will knock your socks off. This event will be a fun-filled day of outdoor activities with the air smelling of hickory smoke and tasty sauces!
