As with most holidays, Middle Tennessee does not disappoint when it comes to getting into the spirit of just about any holiday and Halloween is no exception. No matter what age, time, or day you’re looking for a little trick-or-treating fun, you’re in luck with plenty of options. Check out a few of our favorites, we’ve rounded up:

Goblins in the Garden at Cheekwood

Bring your little ones for a special “Tuesdays for Tots” Halloween celebration at Cheekwood on Tuesday, October 30th. From 10am to noon there will be art and science activities in Massey Hall, along with storytime from 10:30am to 11:30 am. The trick-or-treat trail in the color garden is open from 10:30am to noon. Don’t forget to take pictures at the Pumpkin House!

Trick or Treat at Drakes Creek Park (Hendersonville)

Trick-or-treating a night early? Yes, please. This year, Hendersonville decided to try Halloween festivities at a new location: Drakes Creek. On Tuesday, October 30th from 6pm to 8pm, enjoy treats, games and prizes along the path followed by hayrides through the park. Free, thanks to Hendersonville Parks Department.

Trick-or-Treat on the Square (Gallatin)

As a perfect alternative to nighttime trick-or-treating, this 10am to 2pm event on October 31st at Gallatin’s Historic Downtown Square is perfect for pre-school kiddos who would have more fun during the day. Free, and will take place rain or shine!

Murfreesboro Downtown Merchants

Join Murfreesboro’s downtown businesses for the 16th year in a row on Wednesday, October 31st for trick-or-treating between 3pm and 6pm. Bonus? Go to nearby Old Maney’s Mansion free trick-or-treating nearby (for free) after, open ‘til 7pm!

Franklin’s Pumpkinfest

How about trick-or-treating at Middle Tennessee’s largest fall festival? Head to Franklin’s downtown Main Street and surrounding avenues between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, October 27th for a full day of Halloween fun! There will be several stages with live music, costume contests and a parade, kids’ activities, and of course trick-or-treating for those in costume. Mark the whole family down for this one!

Trail of Treat (La Vergne)

Join thousands of children (yes, it’s that popular!) between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, October 27th for hayrides, games and treats along the “trail of treats” at Veterans Memorial Park. Thanks to businesses that set up booths, everything is free! For an added adventure before, head to the La Vergne library branch for a “spooky storytime” at 1:30pm.

Trunk-or-Treat at Local Churches

If the city and neighborhood-wide trick-or-treating festivities aren’t enough, there’s a whole lineup of local churches putting on “trunk or treat” events. Here is a list of (mostly) local churches.

Happy Halloween, Middle Tennessee!
