It’s not hard to fall in love with the autumnal colors of Middle Tennessee. While some say the “best” colors pop out the third week of October into November, the changing colors are a treat no matter what time you catch them. “Leaf peeping” can be done near or far, with amazing colors lining everywhere from our neighborhood lakes to our state parks. Here are a few of our favorite places to enjoy the changing season:

Radnor Lake

For a quick drive and a simple walk of sheer beauty, Radnor Lake is 100% worth the trip. If you’re lucky enough to catch your walk in a time that the lake is still enough for reflection, you get to see double the fall colors by the life-size reflection of trees in the lake. Quick tip: Radnor Lake has limited parking, so

The area to the west of Nashville is made up of several growing neighborhoods that are gaining a lot of deserved praise. Sylvan Park, Sylvan Heights, and Charlotte Park are two such neighborhoods, and the distinct but bordering communities have secured a unique, entrepreneurial, and giving identity. Watch our Local’s Guide to Sylvan Park, Sylvan Heights, & Charlotte Park video here.

Join Parks in supporting our fallen veterans on National Wreaths Across America Day this December!

From the Revolutionary War to present day conflicts, our veterans are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers. They come from all backgrounds in life to place those lives on the line for our freedoms. In many homes, there is an empty seat for one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. There is no better time to express our appreciation than during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Help us ensure that the sacrifices of our heroes are never forgotten by sponsoring a wreath to be placed in memory of a veteran, on December 15th, at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Parks agents will be on-site
